TONY - showjumper/eventer

This is going to be a very honest advert of an absolutely amazing horse who has proven to just be too much for a young, amateur showjumper like myself.

Tony is an 11 year old 17.2hh Oldenburg gelding. He has previously jumped up to 1.30 but is more competitive around 1.20-1.25. Anything you point this horse at he will take it on. He has a heart of gold and is the easiest horse to do in every way possible. He loads first time, every time, he stands still for the farrier, falls asleep while clipping and is just in general the most affectionate horse going, a true gentle giant. Tony’s flatwork is stunning, his paces are floaty, he auto changes, anything you think he does. Tony would most certainly suit a showjumping/eventing home as he ticks all boxes to excel in those regions. He is seriously quick, has a huge powerful jump, and he can quite literally go ALL day and will never tire!

All this being said Tony has some quirks that make him unsuitable for a young or inexperienced rider. When jumping Tony gets very strong. No gadget will change him, this is just his way of going, and if you’ve got the confidence to just sit and point him, you’ll most certainly get along with him. There is no telling when he will have one of his strong moments, as sometimes you can jump him around and he will go perfect, but sometimes he just wants to go and that’s that. Tony has never bucked or reared or had any nasty moments, it’s just him being so strong that makes him unsuited to inexperienced riders.

A little bit about Tony and I… I bought Tony when I was a 16 year old moving onto horses. I wanted to move up the levels and gain more competition experience. As I just moved off ponies, Tony was not the right horse for me as he is just too big and too powerful for a small girl. I ended up having a bad fall in my first competition with him and I lost pretty much all my confidence. After a few months we moved yards for some professional training, but I wasn’t getting any confidence back, so I decided to try and chill him out by giving him 6 months off in the field. This worked a dream and I bought him back to work in September last year. He had been hacking out on the roads, doing canter tracks, and even got confident enough to jump around some 1m - 1.25 fences. In late December early January this year, the yard I was at just didn’t have adequate space for him. So I made the decision to send him back to England to go in the field again. Tony is currently located in the south of England and will be sold from the field which reflects in his price. Tony will also not pass a vetting. This is simply because he had kissing spine surgery as a 4 year old and he has a very small scar on his lower wither. This being said it has never affected him, he’s not in any pain whatsoever, and is a very healthy, happy horse. I would love for Tony to go to a home where he will be just as loved by someone as much as we love him. He means the world to me but we just aren’t a match, which is truly heartbreaking.

I would love for Tony to find a home where he can enjoy life competing again, with a professional that can handle him. I also would like to make sure he will get turnout, as he is so much happier when he can have time to just be a horse! Absolutely no time wasters, this decision has been hard enough. The fact he is only suited to experienced home and will not pass a vetting is heavily reflected in his price, as this is a horse that will excel in anything. No dealers and no time wasters. Show name is Bonmahon Kira. This 16.1/16.2 stunning mare has it all. 

Bought as an unbroken 3 year old from Ireland. She came 3rd in the Chatsworth BYEH , also double clears BS in 4 year old classes. 

She did not have one fence down eventing last year and was always double clear. She was 2nd Elmwood 90, then won Barbury 90, then won Great Tew 90, then followed that up with winning ‘ Horse Events ‘ Young Horse class at Daunsey and finished the season becoming reserve Champion at the Cotswold cup 3 day event 90 final but should of won but silly rider got 2.4 time penalties for being too fast.

She has £249 BS winnings and won the Discovery class at the big 4 day show at Onley beating over 50 over competitors. 

Then to add to the fact that she is very easy to jump and gives you an amazing feeling she is also beautifully schooled, always gaining well over 70% novice BD dressage. 

She is very well balanced and super trainable and would equally make a dressage horse as an eventer with the looks to be a show horse.

Hacks out alone or in company, has no quirks and she really is a pleasure to own. She would certainly be a contender to win the Badminton grass roots final. 

This is a very hard decision to let this beautiful girl go so no messers please.

Oscar is a rising 8 year old 17.3 hand event horse. 

He has been well schooled and is very elegant on the flat and has a real talent for collection and a green flying change. 

He is a real attention grabber in the Dressage Arena with lots of presence. 

He has a powerful scopey jump and has been sympathetically produced having been successfully competed up to Novice level. 

He is good in all 3 phases and has plenty of blood and has a real natural gallop. 

This horse is only just beginning to come into his own and has really matured  physically into his 8th year and will be ready to progress to higher levels this coming Event season. Oscar is a quality horse with great potential but he is a big athletic horse that we would want to go to a capable amateur or professional.

He is for sale due to his current rider having increased work commitments meaning that they won't be able to put sufficient time into him over the coming season.

Unfortunately the time has come to put Finch up for sale. A seriously hard decision but unfortunately he is not being allowed to reach his full potential with me and he would love someone to treat him like the king he is and have some fun!

Having owned Finch for over 2 years, he was purchased directly from his breeder. He has loved turning to eventing with me and would be an amazing horse for someone to continue to take up the levels or would equally make a fantastic schoolmaster at 90/100/Novice level.

By Russel and out of an Irish Sportshorse, Finch has huge amounts of scope and excellent paces so would also excel in both Showjumping or Dressage. He is also super bold cross country and always looking for the next fence. He is exceptional to do in all ways with no vices and just a real gent on the ground, at home and away, as well as being a pleasure to travel and deal with on my own. Finch is perfect to hack alone or in company.

Finch is looking for someone to have fun and be competitive competing at any level he just loves his job and wants to please. He would be the perfect horse for BE90/100. Currently at Intermediate/2* Level, he has very low mileage for his age (13) and would go a lot further with the right rider.

Fathers Compromise (Promise) is a 2011 16.3hh Irish sport horse mare by Shannondale Sarco out of a Courage mare. She has 118 BE points.

She has won at every level from BE 90 up to Intermediate and 2* initially with a keen amateur and more recently, a Junior rider who took her from 100 to where she is now which really speaks volumes about her temperament as she was his step up from ponies. Together they have achieved so much, a highlight being winning a team gold medal at the Junior Europeans in 2022! She also finished 4th individually completing on her dressage score and went on to step up to 3*S and take 5th in the YR class at Cornbury. They have many top 10 placings and won a 2* and have been clear XC in both their 3* runs most recently at Kelsall April ‘24. She has the scope, ability and trainability to go on with ambitious rider, or equally she will be happy teaching another junior/amateur rider the ropes.

Promise is really consistent in her dressage and always in the top few after the first phase, she is very rideable, markable and correct. She also has a BD record to elementary level.

Her jumping record speaks for itself, she is careful and talented over a fence, keeping a good natural rhythm and tries hard for her jockey. Her XC record is impeccable, she looks for the flags, has good footwork and really loves her job as all videos show! She is really reliable and always brings her jockey home safe with a smile on their face.

Day to day she is the kindest mare to have around, never rude and easy to do everything with, absolutely no hang ups. Hacks alone or in company and no vices. Super 5* bloodlines on both sides and so a great breeding prospect further down the line.

Cali is confidently eventing at BE100 placings in top 10, with scope to go higher. She is a XC machine and always easily makes the time. Forwards to a fence, a push button go, jumps off any stride, extremely responsive to aids. Cali has many double clears under her belt and has previously qualified for BE regionals and will easily do so again this season. 

She has 3 balanced forwards paces, lateral work, flying change, very uphill, willing and a fast learner. Currently competing BD prelim with competitive results and working at Novice at home. Always placed at BD. 

NO VICES, does not nap, easy to do in all ways, very sweet, kind girl. Hacks alone or in company. We’ve done it all, beach rides, group hacks, stay away shows, she stands on lorry, always behaves impeccably. I have owned cali for 6 years, we’ve learnt alongside each other. She is currently eventing and ready to continue the season with a new partner. Open to vetting. Currently unshod and competes unshod, but has had shoes on in the past with no problems.
