13hh Welsh cross 12 year old( not 12 till November) Palamino gelding
After nearly 4 1/2 years of owning our golden boy, both children are finally too tall to ride him any longer.
Fara has been a super pony for both our children to learn lots on, moving on from their 11.2 ponies jumping 50 cm he has taken them up to 70cm at competition. And can jump higher at home and schooling SJ and XC. We have regularly competed at all pony club competitions, NSEA, working hunter, hunter trials dressage and arena eventing, Fara’s perfect competition height is 50-70, and we feel no higher as a competition pony. He is comfortable and confident at this height.
He had been placed pony club and NSEA dressage, Aston Le Walls school arena eventing and lots of showjumping.
Fara was part of the winning team at the NSEA grassroots championship at Hickstead, jumping 3 clear rounds.
Fara was part of the winning 65cm Bloxham eventer challenge team championship.
We have won and placed at lots of unaffiliated and affiliated working hunter class, qualifying him for the BSPS summer champs.
Previously Fara was hugely successful at working hunter with his owners before us.
He has been to pony club Camp, stay away shows, always being very well behaved and settled.
One of his favourite days would be a local country show, spent grazing arena sides and sharing ice creams with lots of kids, while competing in various classes.
He would be very happy being shared with siblings, as my two children have shared him hunting, and at competitions. He loves to be busy, but also happy having time off if his family are away on holiday.
He is super to hack out alone or in company, good in traffic, easy to ride in the school alone or with lots of ponies. He always wears a universal bit, with a flash or grackle noseband but is fine in a snaffle for dressage.
He is not a plod, he is a safe forward going pony and maybe more a 2nd pony after leadrein.
Good to turnout and catch, bath, clip all out, load and stand on the lorry, good with the farrier, cautious but fine with a vet.
His biggest love is hunting, we have hunted him for 3 seasons, from autumn hunting through to the end of season. He has hunted mainly with the Grafton, but also Pytchley, Bicester and Beaufort. He is a real goer, keen but safe and knows and loves his job, he really can jump nearly everything. Neat and clever over rails, jumped gates of roads and good size hedges. He is not for the faint hearted out hunting and if that’s the job you would like him for, than a more hunting experienced family would be best. He’s a gutsy little pony with a huge heart, that’s thinks he’s 17hh. He has great manners on the lorry, at the meet and standing while queuing.
Fara had a tumor and tooth removed from his upper jaw in Autumn 2020. A repeat X-ray 6 months after with a clean picture and has had the equine dentist annually since with no problems reported.
Fara had laminitis back in January 2021, and not since, he is easily and sensibly managed. but he will only go to the best and knowlagble home for this reason.
He is priced according to his veterinary history, but do not be put off by them, it is long in the past. He really is a dream pony to have fun and learn lots with. We would love him to go to a larger family so he can have a forever home. We would like Fara to go to a family where he will be used plenty, as he doesn’t deserve to be a part time pony.
Competition/ hunting bridle, breastplate and stable and turn out rugs included.
