Silva has taken my daughter from jumping 70cms to now jumping 1.10m+

Bronze League finalist in 2022 (placed 6th in UK)

Highest Points scored, winning the Bronze League (Wales) 1st April - 30 September 2023

However, since Summer 2023, my daughter has had a huge growth spurt and is now too big and too tall for this pony and the mare just doesn't like it. We have to admit that Silva needs a smaller jockey.

Silva was ridden by a smaller rider at the recent April Mixed British Show-jumping show at the David Broome Event Centre was back to her best - 4 x double clears at 75 and 80cm and in the placings each time - 2 x 1st (75 Open) and 2 x 4th (80 Open).

Being a schoolmistress, the pony likes to 'nanny' her rider, look after them and show them the ropes.

We have mainly concentrated on show-jumping and she will jump 70 - 1m all day, every day, and very capable at 1.10m. We have also taken part in lots of Junior Academy events.

Silva is forward going but not spooky - happily canters over the wooden bridge in the Derby classes at Wales and West (David Broome Event Centre)

She is a great all-rounder, lovely to hack.

Good on the ground. Excellent to load (both trailer and lorry), clip and shoe. Teeth done September 2023.

Home is very important for this special pony, for her to move on and continue teaching her next little superstar.

Based in West Wales, near Cardigan.

Ruben is one of the kindest ponies you will ever meet. He doesn’t have a nasty bone in his body. This is an extremely sad sale as rider is now off ponies. We have owned him for nearly five years and my daughter has taken him from a novice to the super competition pony he is now.

He is fit, sound, healthy and ready to compete with a new rider. He is a safe sensible responsive ride.

Has jumped all of the fox and newcomer second rounds last year. He finished in the top eight for a few of the fox second rounds this year. He also competed in the newcomers second rounds the year before.

He is brave and never stops. He also has all of his fox double clears for this year.

He has done some unaffiliated eventing. He schools really well on the flat and would make a very competitive event pony. He would do a lovely dressage test, loves XC and would excel in the showjumping phase.

He will hack out on his own or in company. He is good on the road ad in open spaces and very safe.

He has no vices and is everyones favourite on the yard.

He is good for the farrier, clip, load, travel and is exactly the same at home or at a show. He is a true gentleman.

  • This pony has effortlessly done everything asked of him-PC camp rallies, shows, hunting, NSEA Champs, Hickstead 70cm.

Lucky is incredibly calm at shows, he loves to jump and is super careful over fences.

He has serious speed if you want it.

Really fun and has never stopped.

Loves xc, and has given his rider tonnes of confidence.

Has competed up to 80 but would be capable of more.

Previously
Mini SJ Champs 2022 placed 3rd out of 90 competitors
NSEA Champs 2022, 70cm placed 8th out of 150 competitors.

Lucky is a fantastic hunting pony, calm at the meet, good with hounds will go first or last and happy to do gates etc.

Always ridden in a snaffle.

Forward going but not silly or strong.

Would prefer a confident rider.

Very good stable manners, easy to do on the ground.

He doesn’t get attached to other ponies, hacks alone and in company. Good in all traffic and open spaces.

Good to catch, box, shoe, clip etc

Extremely sad sale, as now outgrown. Loving experienced home wanted for this brilliant pony.

Including bridle, rugs and new Black Country fitted saddle (£1450 new)

LOAN pony wanted for keen 9 year old boy

  • 14.2hh
Am looking for an experienced pony for my 9 year old son who loves all pony club activities and trail hunting.

14.2 - 14.3 hh.

We live on a farm in Gloucestershire and do lots of hacking and fun rides, so goes without saying must be sensible in open spaces. My son will have a lesson every week and do pony club activities, so would like something that has come from a similar type of home. He would also like to do some pony club Sj competitions and arena eventing, so must be capable of jumping a course of up to 85 cm.

It is not essential that the pony hunts as we have the next step up for that; but looking for a pony club pony that he can ride for the summer and then pass onto younger brother in the autumn.

My son is keen, but wouldn't like anything too sharp or too whizzy, so am looking for something that has good brakes.

Knowledgable 5* home awaits and can provide lots of references.

Very much hoping to find Mr right soon, so that a partnership can be formed ready for fun summer pony club activities.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Marley really is one in a million. He has such a loving nature and makes everyone that meets him smile.

He is the perfect balance of not a plod but has very good brakes. He is always ridden in a snaffle.

As you can see in the video he is exceptional in heavy traffic. Brilliant in open spaces, easy to stop. He is the type of horse you go out hacking on and never want to come home. I hack him out most days alone but he is equally as good in company.

He has mainly been on the leadrein in the school doing RDA lessons however since being here is improving every day. Will happily ride passed the open gate or horses in the other field. Has been jumped by petite 12 year old and ridden by a very nervous beginner adult 5”6. He takes the leg up like he’s a much bigger horse as he is deep bodied. Extremely comfy he really is a dream boy!

On the ground he is great with our crazy dogs, loves a groom and a cuddle. Good to shoe, bath and loads a travels well on our rattly lorry.

5 star home only.

First to try will buy

Looking for a new home for our beautiful Sam he is a traditional registered 12.2 Welsh Section B gelding and now 12 years old.

Sam is our absolute world and he knows it he is a brilliant little pony who we have owned for a number of years he has taught both my daughters to ride.

He is absolutely amazing out hacking he can go out by himself but usually goes with a group from the current farm as he doesn’t mind being the confidence giving leader.

He never bucks rears or bolts! In the school Sam enjoys his work and does a bit of everything. He is a great little pony club pony!

Although I say sam taught my daughters to ride he is no means a kick along. He is responsive off the leg and enjoys having fun. He will go on a lead rein but he prefers more of an established rider. He has been to local shows behaves impeccably and loads well.

Great for the farrier, up to date with teeth and vacs.

This type of pony is really hard to come by and we are so sad he has been hopelessly outgrown he has so much to give another child. If you feel you have any other questions please get in touch.

Comes with full tack including a full leather adjustable John Whitaker pony saddle, bridle and rugs.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Hedgethorpe Master Jack - 14 year old, fell pony stallion. True to type.

Jack is easy to do in all ways. Don't let the fact he is a stallion put you off as he is probably the easiest horse I have owned. He is stabled on a yard next to mares and hacks out with them.

Hacks out alone and in company. Nothing fases him.

He did his first proper season with his previous owner in 2019 where he qualified HOYS on the flat at RHS. He also jumped couple HOYS workers tracks including Royal Highland. He is still eligible heritage novice workers.

Needs very little working in, no calmers or ear plugs needed.

Whilst I have owned him he has always been placed at every show we have been to. Always lovely comments of judges.

I did not compete last year due to other commitments.

He has had the winter off and is now coming back into work.

He was used as a breeding stallion before his ridden career and has bred some lovely off spring.

This is not an easy decision and he will only go to the best of homes.

Full wardrobe including practically brand new black country classic saddle available at extra cost.

Are you looking for a pony you can watch your child excel on whilst sitting on a deckchair with a cup of tea or glass of bubbly? Tired of watching in dread with a knot in the bottom of your stomach? Before I go into detail on what Ollie (Mr Twist) can do & seeming to promote him as a pure competition pony I wanted to state that this amazing pony's value is as much in the pleasure he gives to watch and handle and his pure versatility & willingness as it is in his competition prowess. He is an incredible little pony and we hope to find him an equally incredible new home where he will simply be cherished.

He'd suit a decent little jockey with good balance and decent hands who's already moved up from a 1st ridden through to a second and wishes to progress and have fun, preferably with an interest in dressage. Pretty much a godsend at grassroots level helping to build confidence and known to give decent novice friends the odd lesson, Ollie then requires more experience for the larger tracks/ harder tests, encouraging his jockey to build upon their own abilities and preparing them for the next stage up. He loves XC and can get slightly excitable but nothing unmanageable. He has never reared, bolted or spun on us and has always been ridden in a snaffle until recently when we've used a universal simply for more precision control when jumping 80/90. Having bought and sold one or two ponies in the past I understand the pitfalls of both and am open to any questions.

We've owned Ollie for almost three years and in that time he's taken my then 10 year old daughter from jumping 50cm to her first 90cm class, qualifying to ride at NSEA Hickstead county champs in prelim dressage (placing 3rd) & SJ 70. He also went to the NSEA National Champs at Addington in the 80 JWS, prelim & novice plate dressage (placing 2nd). He's fast against the clock when asked but not out of control! My daughter has developed a love of dressage since owning him - winning the PC grassroots ride-off at the Northern champs in Auchlishie 2023. They regularly score low to mid 70s in prelim, mid 60s in novice and have been working towards a dabble at elementary scoring 63% on their first try (and not on peak form). In previous homes he also excelled at WH, did extremely well RC dressage champs and has been in NSEA teams at championships many times.

He will step up or down to suit his rider and take care of them. As well as being a fantastic competition pony he is fun to play around on at home, riding bareback/ tackless, hacking out in open fields etc. He's done mounted games, representing his PC branch, will stand for the stirrup or run to vault - steady & accurate, not at all fizzy.

This is a very reluctant sale due to the fact that my daughter has hopelessly outgrown him! We have his full history as he is still loved by all his past owners who would like to remain in touch (only 4 homes including ourselves and his breeders). His previous jockeys have all touched base and share their equine journeys via social media.

He is excellent to handle, groom, shoe, load, bath, clip, etc. Also will hack out alone or in company and is good in traffic. Will turn out with mares or geldings. In the stable Ollie can be a character - kind, gentle and loving when he sees my daughter, a lovable grump at dinner time and does enjoy a routine.

Looking for a 5* home on a private yard for this fabulous little pony where he will live a varied life. Ridden videos will be requested before viewings to check likely compatibility & save wasting anyone's time and references will be sort before purchase if buyer unknown.

Adorable 2016 Irish gelding standing at 13.1hh.

This beautiful boy offers a very safe, comfortable and confidence giving ride. Badger is snaffle mouthed, he has been ridden by children and adults, he enjoys hacking when alone and in company, always snaffle mouthed and super easy. He is brilliant with traffic, including farm traffic, doesn’t get hot or silly in busy environments.

Badger has three comfortable paces on the flat, he rides bigger than his size and massively takes up the leg, he would easily be quiet enough for a riding school, he is very forgiving and keen to please.

Jumping wise he has jumped courses at shows, cross country schooled and he’s bold to a fence, not spooky or looky and keen to please, he’s a real genuine type, a super family pony and very much the sort everyone wants, he is trustworthy in every way, happy to be handled and loved by little people too!

Beautiful bay Welsh C Shilling (aka Mr Moneypenny) - 13.1 hh. 15 in may

We have had Shilling for 4 years now, and sadly my daughter has grown out of him. She was 8 when we bought him and is now 12yrs old.

My daughter has done a bit of everything on him. He jumps 90cm comfortably at home but she mainly competes him at 70cm due to her own confidence levels. He could absolutely go higher competitively or do BS / NSEA Eventing.

Shilling is an ideal second pony, loves to jump and takes confidence from his rider, and would thrive in a competition home.

He has nice paces so could do a lovely dressage test, my daughter just hasnt done a lot of dressage due to it not being her thing.

My daughter has taken Shilling to fun rides and he has behaved impeccably even when horses are being silly around him he is not phased by it.

Been unaffiliated jumping always coming back with rosettes.

My daughter hacks out with friends and their horses or someone on foot or bike goes in rivers and not phased at all. He hasn’t been hacked out alone due to daughters age, they have done junior pony camp and senior camp and he’s behaved impeccably.

My 9 year old daughter rides him on the lead due to her severe visual impairment.

Shilling has visited nurseries to see children and stood happily, he can be groomed for hours and stand happily with hay.

My daughter leads him in from his field on her own, the girls do everything with him alone.

Shilling doesn’t mind living in or out, with us has a stable and his own field.

Loads like a dream.

In the 4 years we have had Shilling he hasn’t been sick or sorry only seen a vet for his injections.

I have lots of videos and pictures.

Please only serious enquiries as this is a heartbreaking sale, and he will only be going to the right home.

Please no novices

Bertie is a true all-round competition pony, with experience XC / SJ / WHP. Would happily do a novice dressage test as schooled beautifully.

He is easy to do, good for the farrier, vet and dentist. Hacks on and off road alone or in company.

He has been to 2 shows with myself recently and won both times SJ and WHP.

He has also been ridden by a competent child jumping an 80cm course without issue.

Bertie would be an ideal contender for riding club / STARS showing and WHP classes. Schooling over 90cm at home.

Bertie is not for a nervous or novice child and is not a first pony, but for a child or teenager looking to take the next step, there isn’t anything he will say no to.

147cm BS pony, rising 10, grey mare. Sara is a jumping machine!!! She lives to jump and will jump anything infront of her.

Ideal teenagers BS or BE pony or quite enough to be a mother daughter share, this horse has huge amounts of potential and talent, very careful and brave.

Many placings BS including wins at pony discovery and placings at pony newcomers. Qualified blue chip first round, has 42 BS points. Schooling easily 110cm at home.

Sara has been there done it, attended many unaffiliated competition, clinics, pony club and has hunted a few days this season with teenage rider.

Has done many farm rides and xc clinics, has schooled round BE100 fences showing that she could easily be a BE pony.

Very easy to deal with, good to clip, shoe, loading and traveling.

Good to hack and in traffic.

Currently ridden by petit teenager, always in a snaffle.

Very loved pony and for sale through no fault of her own, rider has unfortunately lost interest.

Upto date with teeth and vaccination.

May (Hoodwinked)

Double clear and 3rd in the 90cm 28.04.24

May is a forward going all rounder who is easy to do in all ways; loads and travels well (trailer or lorry), catch, clip, bath, hack, lunge and shoe.
She is up to date with teeth and all vaccinations.

Showjumping -
This is where she excels - May has jumped up to BS senior discovery, jumping all over the southwest successfully. She has numerous placings up to 1 metre as she is quick against the clock in juniors but can also make the strides in senior classes. She looks after her rider whilst jumping as she is experienced and knows her job. She has competed at Bluechip, Royal Cornwall show and in the Bury Farm bareback challenge.
May has also hunted in her previous home as well ODE and WHP, where she has a great conformation and way of going for the RIHS/HOYS working hunter.

She loves cross country and never stops at a fence, she is a bold and brave pony.

Flatwork -
May has 3 lovely, forward paces where she holds a beautiful and consistent collection throughout all her gates. She has quick transitions and is soft in the mouth.

Hacking
May hacks well alone and in company, is good with traffic and in open spaces.

She is a really lovely mare on the ground and under saddle, she is a forward going competition pony.

She can come with a bridle and saddle

No loans/lwvtb/time wasters

Open to vettings

Theon has been with us for the last four years. He has taught my daughter to jump and is a safe child’s best friend.

He is happy to take a small child off the lead rein, but also enjoys jumping both worker courses and show jumping tracks. He enjoys hacking alone or in company and enjoys the beach and the gallops.

Theon has competed at both HOYS and RIHS in the flat classes with little campaigning.

Unfortunately he is hopelessly out grown. He would be ideal for a family with few children of varying abilities.

A true kids pony

Gabby is a lovley quality up to height 12hh Dartmoor, she's related to some of the best performance Dartmoors around. Gabby has mainly been used as a lead rein were she just excels herself , there's nothing she won't do wether it's a show class , Showjumping , handy pony , games , gabby turns her hand to literally anything always with a smile on her face and a can do attitude .

She hacks out alone or in company is not spooky and safe in the heaviest of traffic . Gabby can be handled by the smallest of children and is easy to do anything with .

Gabby does go off the lead rein but needs a slightly more confident child when off the lead rein. She goes off your leg and goes lovley on the flat and pops round a course but she is more forward so I would say not FYFR.

Gabby really is the kindest pony you will meet and just loves life , she is looking for a new little jockey to go on adventures with and win lots of rossettes , she's open to any vetting or trial . A good home is a priority for this lovley little pony .

Looking for a safe and sensible 14.2/15.2 hh gelding (native type or light weight cob preferred) 8 - 15 yrs for hacking and schooling, possibly low level jumping due to having a riding accident last year and then losing my horse of 7 years.

Horse would want for nothing and be kept on large livery yard with excellent facilities including indoor/outdoor/jumping arenas as well as plenty of off road hacking. It is important that horse can be walked through fields on the buckle end as well as enjoying schooling as the winters are long!

Happy to travel within 150 miles of Skipton, North Yorkshire.

We are looking for a 12 to 13 hand pony to join our family alongside our other pony and horse on a small private yard in Buckinghamshire.

My daughter is 7 years old and confidently jumping 40/50cm. We hack regularly together and the ponies enjoy a very varied ridden life from local shows (showing, Jumping, WHP and ODEs), PC and an annual trip to Norfolk beach!

We are happy to take on a slightly older pony who has been there/done it who might want a slightly slower pace in life but still likes to get out.

No youngsters please.

My daughter loves caring for her pony as much as she does riding it so a pony that is polite on the ground is also important to us.

References available from PC DC, yard owners or whoever you require. My horses are cared for by myself on a small private yard (a family lives on site) in Buckinghamshire a few minutes drive from my home. I have a private social media account for my own pleasure which I could share with you to show my daughters riding/things we have done. We have a 3 horse herringbone trailer for transport.

Look forward to hearing from you!
