Whispering Serenade - or Myrtle as she is at home!
Homebred out of my Wolkentanz mare, Wolkentana. Myrtle was her first foal (her 2 half brothers by Franz Ferdinand are also for sale).
She is unbacked, but there is no reason why she cannot be backed - she was started as an 8 year old, but due to my health issues we did not get her ridden away - she was very quick to learn, and keen when lunging/long reining. As I had other youngsters (and all geldings), they took priority as she was always going to be my next broodmare whether ridden or not. As I know everything about her and how well she moves etc it was not important to me that she competed as that eas never going to impact on how good her progeny were going to be. However, life has changed and unfortunately the horses have to go as we are selling up the property and business.
Myrtle would be a great asset to any breeding programme looking for proven bloodlines, or under saddle as a ridden horse.
She was left to develop and grow naturally, out in a herd - as all of mine are, learning their manners from the older mares. The only time she has left the property was at 3 months old when her and her mother went to be graded by the Oldenburg society, so she is not a seasoned traveller! So she is totally unspoilt, and other than a foot abscess this winter, she has never been sick or sorry.
She is happy to live in or out, and loves a cuddle. She can have an opinion on life (ie its raining and I don't think I want to go out today) which just means she will just keep out of reach of you putting the headcollar on - she has never been aggressive - however if you take her field mate out she practically puts her own headcollar on so that she's not missing out, in other words she's easy to get back on side!!
This is the hardest part of selling up the business, as all of the horses that are going to be sold are either homebred, or have been here a very long time and are my older competition horses, so please no dealers, I would like to know where they all are, and with her - who knows in the future I may be in a different position and would like one of her offspring - as that was always the plan!
She is the only mare that will be for sale. There are 2 older dressage schoolmasters (upto Inter 1) looking for an easy life, her 2 brothers that were always going to be my next advanced horses when backed, and a few other dressage bred geldings. So please do ask if there is anything else you are looking for!
When contacting, please either drop me a text, or an email, and I will get back to you as often I am in a place with limited phone/Internet service so will be easier for me to call back at a time convenient to you!
