American eventing riders currently dominate the FEI World Three-Day Event
Rider Rankings with five riders in the top ten. The United States is the
only nation to hold five places in the top ten rankings.
Atlanta team silver medallist David O’Connor from The Plains, VA heads the
leaderboard followed by Abigail Lufkin, also from Virginia, at number three,
Karen O’Connor in fourth place, Kimberly Vinoski, Scottsville, VA, in sixth
and former World Champion Bruce Davidson, Sr., Unionville, PA, in ninth.
All five riders have been named on the official USET short list for the 2000
Olympic Games in Sydney later this year.
David O’Connor is listed with Rattle ‘n Hum, Custom Made and Giltedge; his
wife Karen with Prince Panache and also as an alternate with Regal Scot;

The American Horse Shows Association, as the National Equestrian Federation
of the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship
sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping, and
vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian
competition. As the country’s largest multi-breed organization, the AHSA
has over 70,000 members and recognizes more than 2,600 competitions
