SAMSUNG RENEWS TITLE SPONSORSHIP
FOR NATIONS CUP SERIES

SAN FRANCISCO, April 26, 2001 -- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd announced today that it has extended its title sponsorship of the Samsung Nations Cup Series for showjumping for an additional three years - from 2002 to 2005. The decision to invest an additional $7 million demonstrates the company's strong and ongoing commitment to international equestrianism and worldwide sports sponsorship.

H.R.H. The Infanta Doña Pilar de Borbón, President of the FEI, and Mr. Il-Hyung Chang, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics, signed the new agreement at the FEI General Assembly, which takes place today in San Francisco.

"The Samsung Nations Cup Series brings people together regardless of their race, gender or background to celebrate equestrianism," said Il-Hyung Chang, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics. "We have and will continue to value the Nations Cup series as it simultaneously promotes equestrianism and the spirit of friendship and competition among people around the world."

"The FEI is very excited to have Samsung as our title sponsor for another three years. Since 1997 Samsung has demonstrated its strong commitment to equestrianism and the prestigious Nations Cup event," said Dr. Bo Helander, Secretary General of FEI.

Samsung first got involved in the Nations Cup in September 1996, by signing an initial sponsorship deal with the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) worth $7 million over three years, which secured a healthy future for one of the equestrian world's oldest and most prestigious events. Previously, Samsung had been the sole patron of the FEI/Samsung International Jumping and Dressage Competition since 1988.

The Samsung Nations Cup Series takes place in 24 countries. The fifth season of the Samsung Nations Cup Series 2000/01 started on September 17, 2000 with the Nations Cup in Podebrady, Czech Republic. The series will resume again after its winter break in La Baule, France, in May 2001. The World Final of the Samsung Nations Cup Series will take place on September 23, 2001 at Club de Campo in Madrid, Spain.

Samsung is a major sponsor and supporter of sports throughout the world. The company's global sponsorship has been far reaching into diverse sports categories. The various sponsorship includes wrestling, table tennis, badminton, basketball, baseball, soccer, golf, taekwondo, volleyball and equestrian. Key current sponsorships range from the official Worldwide Wireless Communications Equipment Partner of the Olympic Games to a running festival in Central Europe.
