The American Horse Shows Association announced today that the AHSA Combined
Training/Eventing Committee is exploring the possible addition to the
competition calendar of several new AHSA and FEI recognized international
events. Under discussion are a new CCI* for the mid-Atlantic region,
beginning in mid-May, 2001, a new CCI** for the mid-Atlantic region
beginning in the Spring of 2001 or 2002, and a new CCI**** within the
continental USA beginning in the Fall of 2005.
Venues and organizers interested in providing input for the Committee's
information and consideration for its initial planning prior to the

The American Horse Shows Association, as the National Equestrian Federation
of the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship
sports of combined driving, dressage, endurance, eventing, show jumping, and
vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian
competition. As the country’s largest multi-breed organization, the AHSA
has over 70,000 members and recognizes more than 2,600 competitions
nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including
educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates who
officiate at these shows.
