| Vinoski Makes Hisory at Randor |
|
Kimberley Vinoski made history at Radnor CCI**, PA, this weekend, October 12-15, 2000, by winning the American Horse Shows Association Combined Training for CCI** title for the second consecutive year. The Virginia rider partnered the seven year-old English Thoroughbred, Winsome Adante, to beat Australian Olympic team gold medallist, Phillip Dutton who finished in second and third place. Vinoski went into the show jumping with some concern, as this she feels is not a strong phase for her. With two fences in-hand, she could afford a mistake and that came when Winsome Adante lowered the last fence but she had enough penalties to retain the lead. Vinoski narrowly missed a chance to ride at the Olympics herself after being named for the squad with her 1999 Kentucky winner, Over The Limit. A fall at the final outing this summer left them off the team but the diminutive Vinoski showed her class by bouncing back to win this AHSA title again. Sydney Olympic team bronze medallist, Karen O'Connor from The Plains, VA, came in 5th and 6th place with Travis and Upstage, respectively, from the 56 competitors that completed.
